Inkscape snap to grid11/13/2023 ![]() ![]() The 'Grid' tab in the unified 'Align and Distribute' dialog Alignment and Distribution snapping In an effort to bring tools together to provide for a more efficient workflow, we’ve brought 'Arrange' into the 'Align and Distribute' Dialog, which has three tabs with user-friendly names and smaller icons. The new Tiling Live Path Effect Align and Distribute Or it’s a shortcut to quickly copy large numbers of objects and create interesting grids and patterns and variations. This new Live Path Effect (LPE) offers you hours, maybe even days, of exploration if you want to test out all the options, from changing horizontal and vertical spacing, scaling and rotation interpolation, and more. There may be some other situations where this could happen, I'm not sure. So you may be able to avoid snapping to the grid line, by not being zoomed very much, and not have to change the settings in Doc Prop. If I'm not zoomed in very much, it can't happen. If I change it instead to "Snap when closer than" and make the distance 1 (which makes the weakest snap), AND I'm zoomed in far enough, I can make the bbox corner snap to a grid line. That makes what I call a very strong snap. In my Document Properties, I have Snap to Grid set to Always Snap. Well at least I discovered one situation where this could happen. Is that a raster image that you're trying to snap? If so, then it looks like you have a pixel grid? I guess the first thing is to make sure that only "Snap bbox corners" and "Snap to grid" are selected on the snap control bar. Which options are selected in your snap control bar? Hhm, I can't seem to reproduce your scenario where the bbox corner snaps to a grid line and not a grid intersection. ![]()
